If you modify HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to use NMM that change goes to HKCU so you have actually set up NMM as the nxm handler twice (in HKCU AND HKLM). I'm not yet sure

At first, you might ask, why not I just get rid of NMM.
I do not want to get rid of NMM because I have my Fallout NV mods and enb on there. I hit the download button that says Vortex next to it, but my browser Google Chrome gives a pop up that says: "Open Nexus Mod Manager?
why the hell did they have to have another mod manager? nexus manager was just fine and its nice apparently it no longer seems to work so i had to install vortex. which nmm not downloading mods chrome of all in firefox for some stupid reason you dont even get the option to select the program to open with it just goes streight to the app store anyways when you go into firefox settings and select whatever the hell the file format was to open in vortex.
the old program was just fine. hate it when websites push a "new" software when the old one worked just fine and the new one causes more issues then it solves. guess ill just uninstall both and install stuff manually or find another mod manager. pain in the ass! Nexus Mod Manager was garbage. Vortex is superior in every way and NMM desperately needed updating. Vortex is portable, nmm not downloading mods chrome, uses virtual file systems, keeps directories clean sort of. It might not look like it from the perspective of a casual user but NMM was beyond saving and Vortex is was a much-needed improvement.
It is less capable than MO2. Vortex is not superior to NMM yet. NMM is far superior to Vortex in ease of use and NMM gets the job done, nmm not downloading mods chrome. Vortex has a ways to go yet and I suspect they are not going to make it easier to use. Had this same problem, I think enabling some link thingy in the Vortex dashboard got it working.
